XBIZ Summer Forum: Cabana Networking Mixes Business With Pleasure

LAS VEGAS -- Poolside at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino mixed business with pleasure today as webmasters and adult industry executives gathered in their cabanas and at a welcome mixer at the exclusive Skybar lounge at the XBIZ Summer Forum.

This year’s show cabana sponsors included HookUpBucks, Prolatis, NETbilling, DateCamCash, CCBill, Topbucks Mobile, Metro Babes, EFT Canada, Video Secrets. Webair, PussyCash, AllAdult and the SexAppShop.

Each company had their best and brightest on hand to discuss the pressing business on everyone’s mind – how to continue success in today’s online environment.

Video Secrets Operations manager Brad Estes told XBIZ that any time the industry can get together in one place to do business good things happen.

“I am happy to see the familiar faces at such a cool pool venue. And I was even happier to be able to do some business. I saw three studios today for potential deals. It’s tough finding new affiliates, especially for broadcast so this was a real score,” Estes said.

The searing heat of the Vegas summer sun didn’t seem to stop the online crowd. In fact, many of the attendees said the uniqueness of doing business poolside was a welcome relief from everyday dealings.

HookUpBucks John Skorik said the foot traffic at his cabana was excellent. “We have great placement, saw a lot of the people we really wanted to meet and we’ll definitely do it again next year,” he said.

Webair’s Gerard concurred. “ February’s show was great, that’s why we came here to Vegas. The XBIZ show represents key branding opportunities. The company always adapts to serve the webmaster community and goes the extra mile to take care of clients,” he said.

The afternoon’s special Welcome Mixer, sponsored by CCBill and Prolatis capped off the first day’s activities with the same blend of professional chatter and socializing.

Prolatis CEO Jason Brailow managed to greet guests at the mixer as he discussed his company’s partnership with the mixer’s co-sponsor CCBill.

He explained that Prolatis is partnering with CCBill for merchant solutions through Vantage Payments.

“We’re already in mainstream with ‘big box’ retail so now we’re aggressively seeking business in adult online,” Brailow said.

Webmasters weren’t alone at poolside.

Rick Porras, vice president of operations for video production company Metro Content was on hand to discuss his company’s Metro Babes content. In fact the company was broadcasting a live feed of porn star Sunny Lane and friends straight right from cabana central.

“We’re here to promote MetroBabes.com and Sunny Lane’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ movie that we feel is going to be big. And what better place to showcase what we’ve got than poolside with adult webmasters? XBIZ provided everything we needed,” Porras said.
